Port House Profiles: Conclusion

Warres Traditional LBV 1992My Port House profiles draw to an end with this final piece. I enjoyed tasting my way through the range of Ports available from the houses featured, especially as the tastings were so diverse. Some, such as Sandeman, offered a range of fine aged tawny Ports. Others, such as Taylor's, impressed with the quality across the range, from inexpensive First Estate Ruby and LBV up to the mature 1983 vintage Port. And Quinta do Noval showed what quality can be found from the most recently declared vintages - the 1997 and 2000 - as well as showing some good single colheitas.I hope that the tastings were of use in choosing a Port to drink over the festive season.
