Emilio Lustau Almacenista Jarana

The Jarana bodega was founded in the 19th Century by the Balbas de los Ríos family and was purchased by Sr García Jarana in 1979. It is one of the smaller Almacenistas that work with Lustau, run more as a hobby than a commercial enterprise, as is the case with many of these family 'businesses'. Jarana's more profitable operation is as a motorcycle dealer, selling imported Japanese and Italian machines. The wines were mainly produced as gifts for clients and friends, but the Oloroso Pata de Gallina, from a 68 butt solera, has been selected by Lustau for their Almacenista range. (7/12/04)
