Wine Guides

It is not difficult to take on a broad if rather sketchy knowledge of all the world's wine regions. To develop a much deeper knowledge, however, takes more time, and I think it is probably impossible to have a truly deep knowledge of every wine region in existence today. Even wine critics, for whom wine writing is their sole income, are stronger on some areas than others, and many make a feature out of being a 'specialist' on a certain region or style of wine.

The wine guides linked below reflect this. Some, for those regions where my knowledge is strongest, are comprehensive with much detail beyond that which will be required by many. Others are mere thumbnail sketches, quick canters through entire continents in some cases. I'm currently in the process of expanding some of these guides, so the detailed section should be enlarging over the next few months.
