Wunsch & Mann Riesling Cuvée du Roi Clovis 1996

Wunsch & Mann Riesling Cuvée du Roi Clovis 1996: A very typical Riesling colour, fairly pale golden wine with a green hue. The nose has some reductive, rubbery aromas at first, although after a short while these seem to blow off, leaving a classic nose of petrol, smoke and limes. The palate is very dry, with sharp acidity cutting through a deep layer of rounded lime fruit and blossom. As the wine develops in the glass the texture takes on a degree of richness, and this is most evident on the finish which has a great burst of almost creamy fruit. 15/20 (11/12/01)
