Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin 1998

Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin 1998 label image

Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin 1998: A vibrant and fairly intense cherry red in the glass. The nose has lots of primary fruit aromas - cherries, strawberries and cranberries. There are also some hints of leather, and fresh, crispy bacon. Quite tannic on the palate, but not unbearably so. Packed with fruit, it has good acidity, and quite a big, chewy body. At first somewhat astringent on the finish, but this changes as the wine aerates. There was some length. Considering the youthfulness, I found this a very pleasant example of Gevrey-Chambertin. Good.
