Domaine de la Prose Coteaux du Languedoc St Georges d'Orques 'Embruns' 2000: A good colour, with more depth than the standard cuvée. Initially some animal and metallic notes, but these soon give way to a rich vein of blackberry fruit with crushed rocks and hot, roasted garrigue herbs. An immediate fleshy, creamy texture on entry, but with plenty of ripe, slightly spicy tannins and good acidity beneath it all. Alongside the black fruit are notes of game and liquid stone. This is delightful stuff, which offers pleasing, forward fleshy texture and rich fruit but structure, grip and terroir notes as well. 16.5/20 (22/12/03)
