Poliziano Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 'Asinone' 1999: An attractive, deep, red-purple colour. A lovely nose, full of dark chocolate-coated black fruits. The palate is divine - full of grip, with firm, structural tannins and great acidity. It's intense, serious, mouth filling and savoury, and has wonderful depth of flavour, with black fruits, spice and pepper. Tremendous stuff. 18+/20 (20/1/03)
