Chateau Pech Redon Coteaux du Languedoc La Clape 1999: A lovely, deeply coloured, red-black wine. Great character on the nose, with aromas of dark, tarry berry fruits and roasted herbs, with a sweet, charcoal and cherry-scented edge. Full, generous, savoury flavours of fruit, herb and stone. There's a rich creamy texture on the midpalate, backed up by a firm, tannic, grippy structure. Absolutely delicious. A delightful start to my year in southern France. 16.5/20 (3/11/03)
