Domaine du Paternel Cassis Rosé 2003

Domaine du Paternel Cassis Rosé 2003: Quite a pale rosé, just a little too deep and pink to be onion skin, but close. Initially very forward crushed strawberries on the nose, settling to a more restrained, leafy red fruit with time. Nice acidic structure on the palate, providing freshness to the subtly rounded mouthfeel. There are also one or two tannins lurking here, so this is a rosé with a touch of grip. Firm finish, just showing a little note of honey or caramel, but it is very faint. Good. 16/20 (9/5/05)
