Domaine Marcevol Côtes du Roussillon 2001: A dark, red-black hue.
Herby, sweet and spicy notes on the nose, rich with aromas of black cherries and
sweltering garrigue. On the palate there is very good concentration, and a
pretty decent balance of components, with a soft, round, slightly plump texture
sitting with some grippy background tannins and acidity. It could do with showing a
little more backbone, especially through the midpalate which is a bit flabby,
but there are some good tannins in the finish to compensate. Decent length too.
I like it. 16.5/20 (31/1/05)
