La Spinetta Monferrato Rosso 'Pin' 1998: A dark, glossy, dark red wine. A great nose, somewhat international in style, led by toasted oak, and followed by kirsch, chocolate and coffee. Brilliant texture on entry, mouth-filling and creamy, but with plenty of fine, firm tannins in the background. Flavours of white chocolate, black cherries and raspberries. Medium bodied. Tannic finish, great length. This is brilliant stuff. 18+/20 (29/9/03)
