Domaine de la Lande Bourgueil Cuvée Prestige 2000

Domaine de la Lande Bourgueil Cuvée Prestige 2000: A deep colour, dark and brutal. A nose redolent of smoky cherry stones, with some blackberry fruit and fleeting notes of green pepper, green chilli and mint. Seems a little hot and obvious, but otherwise it is fairly classic. A nice presence on the palate, very well balanced, with a little oily-silkiness. Still showing rather prominent tannins. Appealing, seamless quality. This old vines cuvée will do well in the cellar over a few more years. 16.5+/20 (4/4/06)
