Vieux Chateau Gaubert Blanc 2000

Vieux Chateau Gaubert Blanc 2000

Vieux Chateau Gaubert Blanc (Graves) 2000: This has a rich, ripe, quite golden colour, followed up by an open, expressive nose, packed with aromas of crushed rocks and minerals, with notes of honey and acacia, and then waxy furniture oil. The palate is full, full of honey-edged white fruits with a mineral component. There is a firm grip and fresh, balanced acidity, which sits nicely with the very minor background notes treacle sponge notes and butterscotch. A savoury finish, and a good, vibrant length with a touch of grapefruit. 16.5/20 (9/4/04)
