Cave Vinicole de Turckheim Cuvée Réserve Tokay Pinot Gris 2000: This has an impressively deep and rich colour, and has an expressive nose, full of honey, bacon, spice and tropical fruits. The palate is full bodied and dripping with clean fruit, spice and pepper, cut through with brilliant acidity. A honeyed edge to the texture lends a note of opulence. On the finish a suggestion of bitter stringency is the only gripe, although this is picking on a very minor point. This is lovely wine, and excellent value for money. 16.5/20 (13/11/01)
