Chateau Coupe Roses Minervois 'Granaxa' 2000

Chateau Coupe Roses Minervois 'Granaxa' 2000: An attractive hue, suggestive of Grenache, with a moderate depth of colour. The nose is lovely, with sweet cherry and gamey notes, together with nuances of smoke and leather. Appropriate concentration on the palate, with a rounded mouthfeel, nice structure of soft tannins and a little extract. There is real character in this wine, a warm Grenache typical of the south, but packed with appropriate flavour. 15/20 (14/6/04)
