Enzo Boglietti Barolo Case Nere 1997: This wine has a lovely, deep colour for Nebbiolo, still with a youthful appearance even at six years of age. The nose has a beautiful melding together of gently baked fruit, with an intense, heady, exotic perfume, port-like spice and some barrique-derived notes of toffee and caramel. Full, rich and balanced on the palate. Plenty of integrated structure and sweet-savoury fruit. Firm, and a powerful length. This is brilliant Barolo. 18+/20 (22/9/03)
