Domaine D'Aupilhac Coteaux du Languedoc Montpeyroux 1998: Comprised of 30% each of Mourvèdre & Syrah, 20% Grenache and 10% each of Carignan & Cinsaut. Deep, densely coloured, red-black wine. Fantastic nose - rich, pure blackberry Syrah fruit. On the palate there is plenty of tannic structure which gives a hard, firm edge to what is not quite a creamy texture. Massive fruit and firm acidity. This is impressive stuff that really needs two maybe even three more years in the cellar. 16.5+/20 (17/11/03)
