Cru Bourgeois Classification in Action

As I have indicated in my account of the Cru Bourgeois classification, domaines must now apply with each vintage to receive the accolade. I just received notification this morning that Laulan Ducos have been recognised as ‘Cru Bourgeois’ for their 2008 vintage, in this brief message from Frédéric Ducos:

Nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer que le Château Laulan Ducos a reçu récemment la reconnaissance “CRU BOURGEOIS” au titre du millésime 2008, cette certification récompense le travail effectué depuis des années sur la qualité de nos vins.

Cordialement,

Frédéric DUCOS“

Now if I could only begin to understand the differences between Vin de France and Vin de Table, and why some domaines are comfortable using grape varieties and vintages in association with these wines and yet others aren’t I might actually feel as though I am finally getting to grips with this wine lark.
