2011 Winedoctor Label Quiz

It's time for my 2011 Label Quiz. Last year I published this quite late - it was almost New Year's Eve - but this year I'm a little more organised. That's unusual - how did I manage that?! No matter, as hopefully it gives you all time to get your label-identifying thinking caps on.

Below are twelve images, the first ten all close-ups of wine labels. Unlike other label quizzes, I haven't trawled the internet for famous labels, these are all bottles I have lifted from the cellar for photography, so this is very much a Winedoctor Label Quiz. And that means it isn't devoid of wines from the Loire, naturally, so one or two might seem somewhat obscure. On the other hand, some will perhaps be very easy. I particularly like numbers nine and ten, providing us with something of a 'horse and cart' theme. And what's that shifty-looking character hanging around next to the door in number nine up to?

At the end there are two bonus questions, images from visits undertaken within the last few years. Number twelve shouldn't be too difficult. Number eleven is more tricky; the region is a well known one, but can you identify the village on the distant hill?

Last year I was worried I had made it too easy, but some labels went entirely unidentified, and not just the more obscure Loire wines. So this year I will give you a clue; five of the labels are from the Loire, five are not. And almost all the originals can be found on Winedoctor somewhere.

Do please post your answers (or guesses!) as a comment on the Winedr blog, but please note that Winedoctor readers have correctly identified all the labels below - so don't click through to the answers page if you are intending playing this game yourself.
