Reading Wine Labels: Chile
|
|
This wine comes from Concha y Toro (meaning literally 'ear of the bull'), one of Chile's top producers. This is their top cuvée, named Don Melchor after the founder of the winery, it is a Cabernet Sauvignon based wine. The term Private Reserve is not legally defined, but merely indicates the winemakers intentions for this to be a special wine. The region of origin is Maipo, and the vintage is 1990 - both are clear on the label although difficult to see here because of the colours used. The wine comes from the Puente Alto Vineyard. |
