Reading Wine Labels: USA
|
Clos du Val is one of California's top wineries, and all of their wine labels bear an image of The Three Graces - Aglaia, Euphrosyne and Thalia - based on a Leo Wyatt engraving, designed around George Petel's statue, created in 1624. The vintage, 1988, is clearly declared. In this region reserve is a poorly defined term, denoting some special selection or ageing in oak. The region of origin (or AVA - the US equivalent of the French appellation system) is Napa Valley, one of the best. |
