Reading Wine Labels: Australia
This imposing label comes from the Henschke winery, which as the information near the foot of the label tells us is located in Keyneton, South Australia. Either side of the Henschke coat of arms the text tells us that the estate has been in existence since 1868. The wine here is Mount Edelstone, coming from the vineyard of the same name, in the 1991 vintage. This wine is a Shiraz, although the label does not tell us this. The label proudly declares the wine as Produce of Australia, and also reassures us that the wine has been Estate vintaged and bottled, meaning that the wine has been produced and bottled on the estate.
