Vega Sicilia Ribera del Duero Unico 1983 label image

Vega Sicilia is probably Spain's most significant winery, and this label is from the 1983 vintage (cosecha) of their premium wine, Unico. The region of origin, Ribera del Duero, in Northern Spain, is clearly stated, and beneath this in small type the label confirms that this is a Denominación de Origen, a legally defined wine producing region. The proud heritage of Unico is declared by an account of awards received, including such grand accolades as the Medallo de Oro y Gran Diploma de Honour Ferla de Navidad de Madrid de 1927. The wine is bottled at the property, as the label states Embotellado en la Propiedad. The location of the winery, Valbueno de Duero is given. Within the box are some details regarding bottling, telling us that the 1983 vintage has been bottled in 44000 bottles (botellas) and 2000 magnums (magnum). At the very foot is the signature of the President of Bodgas Vega Sicilia.
