Reading Wine Labels: Bordeaux Left Bank
|
|
Château Haut Brion is one of the five first growths of Bordeaux. Here the label shows an image of the château, and below the name of the château is the vintage 1990. This is printed in a different colour as the same label design is used year after year, the vintage printed on afterwards as required. The term Cru Classé de Graves denotes this château's position in the Graves classification system. This château was the only Graves château to be included in the 1855 classification of left bank château, as denoted by Premier Grand Cru Classé en 1855. The appellation, Pessac-Léognan, an enclave of Graves, is also declared. |
